Wenatchee Loses McCormack, Money

Wenatchee Lost $16,000 This Year
WENATCHEE, Wash., Oct. 5—Oakland of the Pacific Coast baseball League has selected outfielder Ross McCormack from the Wenatchee Western International League club's roster under terms of a working agreement between the two ball clubs.
McCormack, 23, hit .294 this season, led the Chiefs in runs batted in with 87 and hit 12 home runs. He has been with Wenatchee the last three years.
Meanwhile, officials of the ball announced today a deficit of $30,000 since a fan-owned corporation took over the team in 1950.
President Paul Thomas said losses during the past year totalled $16,728 and it is likely the club will not operate in 1954. He said attempts are being made to dispose of player contracts and other assets to cut down the bills owed by the team.
