Capilanos Get Jim Clark From Rainiers
PALM SPRINGS, Calif., March 31—Outfielder K. Chorlton and infielder Jimmy Clark are being cut from the Seattle Rainier baseball roster and returned to Vancouver’s Western International League club.
Manager Gerry Priddy announced his decision to let them go Wednesday.
Bob Wellman, up from Yakima’s WIL team, won out over Chorlton, a Seattle high school graduate and former Rainier, for an outfield spot on Seattle’s spring roster.
Priddy expressed his reluctance to let Chorlton go because of the need for his speed, but said, “I have to go along with Wellman because he figures to give us stronger hitting.”
