Lewiston Defeats Vancouver 5 to 3
LEWISTON, Idaho, Monday, April 12 — Lewiston staved off a ninth inning rally to edge Vancouver 5-3 in an exhibition baseball game between the two Western International League teams here Sunday.
Bob Duretto, pinch hitting for Vancouver, singled to drive in two runs in the ninth inning, but Pitcher John Marshall tightened up and stopped the Caps cold.
Lewiston was the first to score. In the second inning Clint Cameron's long double drove in Mel Wasley. The Broncs tallied two more runs in the third.
In the sixth Cameron drove in another Lewiston run when he doubled again driving in Wasley ahead of rum. Russ Rosburg Bronc right fielder, lifted one of John Cordell’s pitches for a 335-foot homer to complete the Bronc scoring.

Seattle U Beats Tri-City Braves
PASCO, Monday, April 12 — Ernie Pastornicky allowed 10 hits, but never more than two in an inning as Seattle University’s baseball Chieftains defeated Tri-City’s Braves of the Western International League in an exhibition game Sunday 6-2.
Tri-City was able to peck over single runs only in the last two frames.
Meanwhile Pastornicky coasted along with a big load manufactured by SU in a five-run second inning. The rally opened with Bill Collier’s triple. Three singles, three walks and a hit batter followed southpaw Larry Richardson.
