SAN FRANCISCO, March 16 — The Oakland Acorns of the Pacific Coast League Tuesday assigned outfielder Vern Richert to Wenatchee of the Western International League.

Tran Signs Up
PASCO, Wash., March 16 (UP)—Shortstop Ray Tran has become the 14th member of the Tri-City Braves of the Western International Baseball League to sign a contract for 1954, General Manager Eddie Taylor said today.

Victoria Signs Mexican

Victoria Tyees have signed a Mexican outfielder highly recommended by pitcher Bob Drilling, who played winter baseball with him in the Mexican League. He is 23-year-old Armando Sanchez of Laredo, Texas, a right-handed batter who hit about .340 this winter and who has Drilling’s enthusiastic backing as to speed, hitting ability and hustle.
