Spring Training Days Away

4 WIL Ball Clubs Ready For Training

Four more Western International League baseball teams open spring training this week, a check showed Sunday.
The Spokane Indians at Bennetsville, S C. and the Lewiston Broncs who are training at home, are the only clubs in the 10-team Class A league to have started spring drills so far.
Three teams are slated to start April 1. Calgary opens at Porterville, Calif., and Edmonton at Lindsay, Calif. The Salem Senators will open at Salem.
April 2, the Vancouver Capilanos will move into their spring base at Clarkston, Wash.
Yakima and Tri-City, both training at home, will wait until April 5. Wenatchee will also begin drills April 5, at their camp at Petaluma, Calif.
Last of the teams to get its spring practice will be the Victoria Tyees. The Tyees open at home on April 10.
The WIL season begins April 29.
