Victoria Gets Ex-Big League Shortstop

Eddie Lake To Line Up With Tyees
[Victoria Colonist, March 26, 1954]
Eddie Lake is now officially a member of the Victoria Tyees and will almost certainly handle their shortstopping job this season.
General-manager Reg Patterson announced last night that the veteran ex-major leaguer had accepted terms and would be reporting here for spring training April 14. Negotiations were carried on for the past few days.
Lake, who hit .279 for the Boston Red Sox in his best big league season, also played regularly for the Detroit Tigers in a seven-year tenure in the American League. His last three seasons have been spent with San Francisco (1951) and Oakland (1952 and 1953).
