Skip Kitsman Bought by Vancouver

Caps’ Brenner Buys Outfielder From Salt Lake
[Vancouver Province, Feb. 13, 1954]
Vancouver Capilanos acquired another outfield candidate today with the purchase of Skip Kitsman from Salt Lake City of the Pioneer League.
Kitsman, a 6-ft., 180-pounder, who’s 23, has been in the Philadelphia Phillies’ chain for three years. He didn’t play much last season because he injured his arm, but Salt Lake general manager Eddie Leishman told Caps’ boss Bill Brenner that he was “too good” for Class C baseball. Come April, Brenner will see how he rates in Class A.
