Charlie Mead a Bear Now
YAKIMA, Feb. 17—Outfielder Charlie Mead, who led the Western International Baseball League in home runs last year, Tuesday signed a 1954 contract with the Yakima Bears.
Mead hit 31 home runs for Calgary last season. He also led the league in runs batted in with 118.
