Canadian Pitcher Goes to Canadian Ballclub

Esks Obtain Art Worth From Indians
EDMONTON, Dec. 9—Purchase of pitcher Art Worth and veteran catcher Bill Sheets from Spokane Indians was announced Wednesday by general manager John Ducey of Edmonton Eskimos of the Western International Baseball League.
Worth, a southpaw and native of Victoria who once played semi-pro ball with Calgary, won 11 games and lost six with Spokane last season while compiling a 3.82 earned run average. He was voted to the WIL’s first all-star team.
Sheets caught 111 games for the Indians in 1953, hit .300 and batted in 53 runs. He will replace catcher Dick Morgan, sold to the St. Paul Saints of the American Association.
