Chiefs Won’t Fold

Wenatchee To Play in W.I.L.
WENATCHEE, Nov. 19 — President Paul Thomas announced Thursday that Wenatchee will field a 1954 team in the Western International League.
He said a group of local business men will form a new corporation and take a lease on the present fan-owned franchise. The announcement came in reply to a league directors’ ultimatum for a Wenatchee decision by Nov. 24 on whether it would continue in the league.
Thomas said all players on the roster will be sold to pay off debts of the 1953 season, which have been cut down to $18,700.
He said the new organization will be approved by the annual stockholders meeting Tuesday.
