Should Auld Acquaintance Be .. Uh .. Uh ...

The posts below and on the following pages are the WIL 1954 pre-season stuff from the year 1953 (beginning at the end of the '53 season).

The most interesting stuff is from the fall WIL meeting when Bob Brown was shanghaied by unhappy league directors (if you read between the lines). Clancy Loranger of the Vancouver Province felt that Victoria, Calgary and Edmonton ganged up on him (that was a squib in a column of his I didn't post), while it sounds from Jim Tang at the Victoria Colonist that Dewey Soriano stabbed his own predecessor.

Tang's "Best" list is pretty interesting, too. The rest is mostly signings and money-raising efforts of debt-ridden clubs.
