Basher Bob Gets PCL Call-up

Soriano Gets Wellman
SEATTLE, Oct. 12—Powerful Bob Wellman, who hit .350 for the Yakima Bears of the Western International League this year, has been purchased on a straight cash deal by the Seattle Rainiers of the Pacific Coast League.
Dewey Soriano, new general manager of the Rainiers, said Wellman “is a younger player who certainly deserves a chance in the Coast league of his record last year.”
Wellman drove in 112 runs for Yakima, averaging one per game. The 215-pound outfielder hit 26 home runs.
