Cec Garriott Quits

Victoria Leader Will Get Release
VICTORIA, Dec. 18 — Manager Cec Garriott of the Victoria Tyees of the Western International Baseball League has asked for and will be given his unconditional release, Manager Reg Patterson announced Thursday. Patterson said Garriott had turned down a contract offered by the Tyees.
The contract was known to have called for a reduction in salary from last year and believed to be the same as Garriott received in 1952, his first year with the Tyees.
Garriott led the Tyees to the WIL pennant in 1952 but last year the club foundered in or around last place most of the season. Patterson said he had nobody in mind for the vacated position.
