Dick Greco Purchased By Tri-City
KENNEWICK, Dec. 4—Eddie Taylor, new general manager of the Tri-City Braves, telegraphed Friday from Atlanta, Ga., he had bought a pitcher and outfielder for the Western International League club.
The pitcher, righthander Clarence Beers, 32, was obtained on a “look-see” basis from Charleston of the American Association. Beers went to Charleston last season after a brief trial with the Seattle Rainiers of the Pacific Coast League.
Outfielder Greco was Taylor’s other purchase. Greco went last season to Williamsport of the Eastern League from Ottawa of the International League. A long-ball hitter, he formerly played with the since-disbanded Tacoma Tigers of the WIL.
