Calgary Baseball Club Won't Fold

WIL Stamps Set To Go For 1954
CALGARY, Nov. 3—Pro baseball will be back in Calgary next summer, officials of the Stampeder Club decided at a meeting here Tuesday. At least, club officials are ready to try again.
Bus Lacey, president of the Stampeders, said the club lost $45,000 last summer. This sum does not include more tan $30,000 spent in purchase of players and equipment.
Major reasons given for last year’s almost complete collapse were the weather and promotion.
Lacey said there was every indication that either Detroit Tigers or Cleveland Indians would enter into a partial agreement with Stampeders for next season with a full working agreement contemplated for the following year.
